George R.R. Martin

These days, Martin is best known for his epic fantasy series of magic and political intrigue, A Song of Ice and Fire, but he's been around for many, many years. Among other things, he's the author of the Haviland Tuf stories, and my favorite grisly little story of all time, "Sandkings". Here are some of his books.
