J.R.R. Tolkien

master of middle earth

Have you seen our weblog or our monthly book review?

All the world knows (and most of it has read) The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, both of which I cherish. I believe that I've read The Lord of the Rings upwards of fifteen or twenty times, starting when I was in third grade. I still take it down every year or so. Less well known are the stories Farmer Giles of Ham, Smith of Wooton Major, and Leaf by Niggle, all of which are excellent. The stories have been published in a variety of ways; the most recent is a collection entitled Stories and Poems. I have it in hardcover; it's probably available in softcover by now.
