I am a 45, well, almost 46, year old wife of one and mother of two. I live in Southwest Wisconsin amidst pastures and wooded hills in a rambling old farmhouse renovated by my handy husband. I am also a compulsive knitter with something always on the needles and a spinner of wool and any other fiber. I have a degree in English which, from what I can tell, has not garnered my any payback on the tuition except for a love and appreciation of good books. Most days, that is enough.

At nearly 45 years of age, I find myself working for a violin shop, and helping to manage a very small office. Previously, I was a: programmer, professional musician, teacher, manager of a copy shop, manager of the rental department of aforementioned violin shop, and goliard at large in Ireland.

I have a teenage son, a husband of 20 years (imported from Ireland), and reside in Richmond. I wish I resided again in Berkeley, but can't afford to.

I read, I sew, I draw, and now I keep a little site (http://www.planetshwoop.com/pinax/). I hope to become a programmer again some day for pay. Meanwhile, I do what I can.

I spend my free time listening to music, playing my guitar, watching films and going out in Nottingham with my friends. I am interested in science, politics and history. My name is Stuart McAra, I am 24, single and work as an Electronics Design Engineer for a Design Services company in Livingston, Scotland. I live in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. I am very envious of the amount of time Will gets to read, I don't know where he gets it from. I am heavily involved in organising concerts and other events for a group of Edinburgh churches. My other interests include music, I play the guitar and sing in a choir, going to the cinema and sailing, for which I have even less time than for reading.

When I get time to read I have quite similar tastes to Will though I have very little tolerance for the more fanciful types of Fantasy writing where all the names are full of Z's, X's and Q's. The Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite books and I also like Terry Pratchett. I like books that are set now with realistic characters and plots, as well as books with very strongly researched scientific premises. I tend not to enjoy historical books.

Living in the UK I will obviously be reviewing books which are available to buy here, a number of which may not be available in the US. I make no apology for this, a number of the books Will reviews are not available here, but with online bookstores there is no reason not to be able to buy a particular book no matter where you live.

My name is Steve Martin (not THE Steve Martin, just A Steve Martin...) and I'm 30 years old. I'm married (Kim) and have 2 kids (Kyle and Alex). By day I'm a Software Developer at Powerway, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana and by night I play in a promising local band. When I'm trying to avoid doing my household chores I read (I read a lot). Some of my favorites are Brian Daley, Lois McMaster Bujold, Adrian Plass, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Robert A. Heinlein, Joe Haldeman, and Lawrence Watt-Evans. I especially like good space opera. R. T. Cuttler is a 29-year old resident of Central Florida, who loves to read, and has dabbled now and then with writing. At one point in his self-proclaimed "troubled youth," he managed to write over two hundred songs and poems over a 4 year period. Still, he is relatively unpublished, excepting a few school projects, and has given up his dreams of rock stardom in exchange for a rather sedate, boring life. But he likes it, which is all that matters.
